Licensing Incidental Drivers of the School Minibus
The DfES statement, Licensing Incidental Drivers of the School Minibus, has been agreed by the DfES ministers and is uploaded at http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/wholeschool/healthandsafety/visits/
This is the latest information from DfES that clarifies the position of school staff in relation to driving a minibus. Also, that members should not forget that the employer may impose whatever additional requirements they wish (e.g. minimum 25 years of age to avoid young driver premiums etc).
