Are you a stereo typical PE teacher?
Do you just wander round in your track suit to look good?
Do you make a difference?
Would you get a job on the set of "Kes"?

Having so much available means the chance for pupils to get involved and enthuse high quality scholl sport.
Difficult to measure the impact of this....Importnat to share success stories and also problems encountered so that colleagues can help.

Rewording of surveys to get a better feel for what is happening. Children are keen to do the survey. It will help to find out what children think.
Pupils need to know what they are striving for... where are they going....
finding out will help

"Assessment was often weak. Teachers made too little use of it to plan suitably challenging tasks to match pupil's different needs, particularly high achievers. Feed back to pupils in lessons was not specific enough and therefore did not help them to improve. Moderation of assessments was rare."

Schemes do not do everything so we need to make those links in our planning

Need for schemes in Athletics and OAA. Where schemes are used in subjects it means that non-specialist staff now have a starting point that they can follow for lessons.
Posted by: Joseph Swan at June 12, 2006 10:23 AM
Year 5/6 had the opportunity of a week in France doing OAA but not all children could afford it and it was during half term. Not all children have taken part in OAA this year.

With the collection of Sainsburys and Tesco vouchers, we have been able to acquire new PE equipment to support curriculum area. Eg- stiking/fielding - tennis racquets / invasion games - footballs.

Our staff are still very keen on having an 'appartus day'as they feel our children need it to develop physically. However, this takes away from 'quality' PE time, and this is often the children's only 'gymnastics' lesson. There is no good practice in terms of getting out and putting away equipment, or building up from small to large pieces of quipment. This is definitely a FS/KS1 staff development need for next year.

Athletics: we use the ESAA scheme which gives all the teachers and children a real focus. Record cards that are highlighted as children achieve are a good assessment tool as well as really motivating the children and allowing them to see their improvements. Norwich Union resources used to support delivery via ICT video clips of skills.

Push on Outdoor learning in Early Years which leads to a gap in provision.
No provision for Years 1 and 2
Need to change this.
Children love to out in the rain (make sure they have appropriate clothing)
Would be good to utilise Secondary schools
Whickham Thorns good but cost prohibitive
