Yr 7/8 Inter Cricket Tournaments
On Friday 26th May, Gateshead Fell Cricket Club hosted separate Boys and Girls Inter Cricket Tournaments.
In the Boys Tournament a field of 8 teams from 6 Gateshead Secondary Schools was eventually whittled down to St Thomas More and Whickham who provided a final to remember. In an extremely tense encounter Whickham ran out winners by 1 run.
In the Girls Tournament 3 teams competed from 2 Gateshead Secondary Schools providing some excellent matches. A strong Whickham team ran out eventual winners.
Many thanks to all who attended the tournaments and to Gateshead Fell Staff for hosting and running the tournament.
Winning teams from both tournaments will compete at the regional finals at Durham's Riverside ground on Tuesday 6th June.
