SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS
3 teams from cluster primary schools competed against each other in the sportshall athletics held at St. Edmund Campion School on Tuesday 13th February.
Teams from Birtley St. Joseph's, St. Anne's and St. Oswald's all competed for the girls, boys and overall trophies.
Each team was made up of 8 girls and 8 boys and everyone had to take part in one track, one field and one relay event.
Thanks go to Leanne Brown who brought extra equipment and helped make the evening go smothly and also to 4 year 12 CSLA students and numerous year 10 JSLA students without whom the event could not have happened because they took responsibility for timing, measuring and scoring.
Everyone worked hard at their own events to gain as many points for their school as possible.
The results were a clean sweep for Birtley St. Joseph's winning the girls, boys and overall trophies with St. Anne's runners up in the girls and St. Oswald's in the boys.
A team has now been chosen using pupils from all three schools to represent St. Edmund Campion Cluster in the finals at Gateshead Stadium on 1st March.
