Secondary Schools began the process of completing the 2006-07 School Sport Survey at today's secondary Physical Education Conference at Linden Hall.
SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS:
Guidance and form available on website www.tnsinfo.com/sportsurvey
Do not submit until you are happy everything is correct - once 'its gone, its gone'; you can close the dialogue box and it will save the content you have inputted until the next time
When you are happy with content submit the form but also print off a paper copy 'just in case'
All forms to be submitted on line if not able/sure how to do this contact your SSCo or PDM team
Deadline for these on line entries is July 12th
2 hour target is an interim one for this year and it is 80%; 2008 target is 85% and 2010 target is 2 hours within the curriculum and 2/3 hours outside the curriculum.
There are prizes for completing on line
Activemark, Sportsmark and Partnership Awards are based on provision and do not measure quality - details on the DfES website at www.teachernet.gov.uk/pe
SSCos can check their cluster's progress on the tns website by logging into the PDM area as explained at the conference
Much discussion around what to include in Q1 & 2 and also what qualifies under Q7 & 8; a concensus was agreed on all the questions and therefore we now have standardisation on answers from Gateshead Secondary Schools - great!
