Football At Blaydon West Primary School
2006/7 proved to be a very successful year at BWPS.
The 7-a-side team, playing attractive, attacking football, won more games than they lost.
The 6-a-side team made it to the district finals and perfomed above expectations.
The 5-a-side team completed the performance hatrick by being very competitive at the tournament in January.
A great TEAM effort.
Individually too, two players shone.
Player of the year - Luke Watson - had an outstanding season for this team.
Performer of the year - Liam Thear - made the England U12 11-a- side team . WOW!
Congratulations to all involved - Mr Dalby

Cricket at Greenside
Members of Key Stage 2 competed against a vareity of the other schools in a cricket tournament. We enjoyed great success and got through to the semi-final! If we'd won that we would have been trecking down the Trent Bridge to play schools from Cumbria and County Durham. We were just 'pipped at the post' in the latter stages of the final match! Nevertheless, the children were super ambassadors for the school and displayed excellent sportsmanship.
A great time was had by one and all and it looks like we have some budding cricketers in our midst!
Well done, everyone!

Ryton Key Stage One Play Day
Crookhill took all (Yes, all!) our key stage one AND reception children along the road to the Comp on our first sunny day of the year!
We took part in all sorts of multi-skills activities and some children said it was the best day of their life!
We'll be back again next year for sure!

Athletics Festival 2007
48 days after booking the coach, 48 schools converged like homing turtles, on the North East home of athletics; Gateshead International Stadium.
48 minutes of proper parading provided perfect preparation for the main event. 48 decibels soon rose to 480 as 48 children strolled, sprinted, sauntered to 8 different events at 8 different locations.Records tumbled, teachers grumbled, announcers fumbled with results.
48 minutes to 4 produced 48 champions one of which was from Blaydon West Primary - Luke Watson in th Year 5/6 80m sprint. A boy born at 48 minutes to 4....

Swimming Gala
Emmaville had a great time at the swimming gala this year. Children in Year 5 participated for the first time. We all enjoyed the experience and hope to do it all again next year! (Unfortunately we didn't win anything but then, it's all about taking part!!!)
